Share plates – all very delicious

·         Lamb ribs, eggplant, chutney

·         Jerusalem artichokes, pearl barley and macadamia tarator

·         Snapper, fennel and mussel risotto(Ron said this is the nicest dish he has ever tasted)

·         Duck breast, plum vincotto, white bean babaganoush

Accompaniments:

·         Bread (chargrilled) served with butter

·         Megan had a glass of wine (but I don’t know what it was)!!

Desserts - delicious

·         ANZAC biscuits with quinces and cardamom syrup

·         Cheesecake with pomegranate molasses

Ambience and other comments

Tables were nicely spaced. Not over-crowded. Not noisy despite the hard concrete floors and high ceilings. The restaurant was warm but not stuffy.

Service was amazing.Staff were very efficient and polite without being obtrusive.

Lovely presentation. Crockery is beautiful. Fresh plates for pretty much every share plate. I’m sure they would have given us fresh plates for every share plate but we had tucked into the dish before they could change the plates!

Reasonably priced for the standard of service and very delicious dishes.

·         Curry puffs - delicious
 Thai spring rolls - our favourite
  Thai fish cakes 

Mains: All delicious

·         Grilled tofu with bean sprouts and chilli plum sauce   

GGoong gra prow (stir fried prawns)) – one of our favourites

·         Red curry duck with lychees and tomatoes

·         Pad Phrik Khing (stir pork belly with kaffir lime jam and green beans)

·         Massaman beef curry – one of our favourites

Accompaniments:

·         Coconut rice

Desserts:

·         Black sticky rice with coconut milk (the coconut milk was a bit too salty)

Banana fritter with caramel sauce

Entrees:

·         PaniPuri (small crispy puffed bread, served with potatoes with tamarind chutney and spicy mint water) – I wasn’t quite sure how to tackle this dish.  Jim showed me how to construct it.  You make a hole in the bread, stuff the potatoes into the hole, pour the sauce into the hole and eat it.   The dish wasan interesting eating experience but I’m not sure whether it was worth it. Is the puffed bread meant to be warm? Are the potatoes meant to be warm?

·         Vegetable Pakora – delicious

Mains: All delicious

·         Butter Chicken

·         Malai Kofta – this dish was our favourite

·         Dal Tadka

·         Lamb Madras

·         Fish Malabar

·         Beef Bhuna Marsala delicious

Accompaniments:

Rice and Naan

Desserts:

·         Pistachio Kulfi - good

·         Ras Malai  (cottage cheese dumplings soaked in thickened sweet milk garnished with dried fruit, served cold) – very very delicious and refreshing
