Trough according to Ambrosia

We are a group of Canberrans who have been eating out together for more than 20 years at mainly Asian restaurants, sometimes more upmarket places. The retirees amongst us also have a regular morning coffee group. This blog is primarily a record of where we went, what we ate and what we liked and didn't like. It's not intended to be an extensive and insightful review of each restaurant and each dish, hence comments are often limited to expressions such as "yum", which says it all for us.

Joe's Thai Restaurant 9 May 2018

Present: John, Jim, Kim, Karen, Megan, Ron

Entree:

Fresh rice paper rolls – delicious.

Curry Puffs - delicious

Mains:

Red Duck Curry – the serving was moderate. Could have had more lychees.

Gai Yan (marinated grilled chicken) - delicious

Stuffed Egg Plant with black bean sauce – delicious, not too oily

Crispy Fish Fillet with ginger and shallots – batter could have been more crispy but nice flavour overall

Crispy Pork Belly Stir Fry with 5 spice and chilli – Delicious. This was the favourite!

Dessert:

Fried ice cream

Banana fritters and ice cream

Accompaniments:

Rice
