Trough according to Ambrosia

We are a group of Canberrans who have been eating out together for more than 20 years at mainly Asian restaurants, sometimes more upmarket places. The retirees amongst us also have a regular morning coffee group. This blog is primarily a record of where we went, what we ate and what we liked and didn't like. It's not intended to be an extensive and insightful review of each restaurant and each dish, hence comments are often limited to expressions such as "yum", which says it all for us.

Ottoman restaurant in Barton 22 January 2025

All the food was superb. Beautifully presented.

The service was unfussy and discrete. Each course was served to all diners simultaneously. Each dish was briefly explained as it was served.

The noise level was high, but was not intrusive and was purely as a result of people talking. No additional music or other unnecessary noise.

A welcoming restaurant, for a great night.

China Tea House Erindale 8 January 2025

You can never have too much duck.

China Tea house is always noisy but everyone seems to leave by 7:30-8pm and it becomes nice and quiet, just us.

We all really liked all the dishes. No special stand-up from the list but a regular with the group.
